FBLA Virgin Islands 2023 Leadership Training

Our future business leaders! Senator Genevieve Whitaker remains an active member of our community. On January 14, 2023, she served as a speaker for the Future Business Leaders of America Virgin Islands Leadership training held at the Univeristy of the Virgin Islands Albert A. Sheen campus.

"It was a pleasure to present this morning at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Virgin Islands Leadership Training at UVI on behalf of my fellow Board Members of the VI Board of Career & Technical Education as coordinated by our Executive Director, Mr. Anton Doos, who was also in attendance. I shared with the students the importance of following your passion as they seek careers in business or becoming entrepreneurs," stated Senator Genevieve Whitaker.

"Also, I would like to highlight regarding FBLA that in the 34th Legislature, I sponsored Bill No. 34-0378 (an Appropriation Bill for Career & Technical Student Organizations-CTSOs) http://bit.ly/BN340378CSTOs which included a minor Amendment removing Section 2 of the bill as an effort to support the funding levels of our local FBLA as the youth prepare and attend conferences and other activities as well our Skills USA and Future Farmers of America Virgin Islands chapters. The efforts continue as we remain engaged in one of our CTSOs will be adequately funded," also stated Senator Genevieve Whitaker.

In sum, as I shared the following quote by a young entrepreneur (she started at age 4) and author, #MikailaUlmer, the founder and CEO of Me & the Bees Lemonade and author of “Bee Fearless” (she wrote the book at the age of 15)

“The more passionate you are about what you do, the more fun you will have while doing it, and then also, the better you will do it, the easier it will be, and the more successful your company will be.”
