Senator Genevieve Whitaker and her team visited the Align Community Inc. Youth Empowerment Summer Camp, led by one of our key dedicated, dynamic, and passionate educational stakeholders, Adryann Glenn CEO/Executive Director on July 12, 2022. “It was absolutely a beautiful experience to spend time with the precious campers who inspired my work on their behalf,” shares Senator Whitaker who is thankful for the invitation from CEO/Executive Director Glynn. This year's slogan is “Be You, Be Empowered, Be Great”. From the start of Senator Whitaker’s term, one of her many focuses was ensuring young people are granted every opportunity to be proactive in the community, therefore the senator couldn’t miss the chance of inspiring the children, specifically the young ladies of the group. It’s not quite often young children get one-on-one time with a Senator. The campers learned about the importance of service as a Senator and shared their interests as well as their great camp experience. The camp is located at Beulah AME Zion Church in Lower Bethlehem. Senator enjoyed speaking to the next Virgin Islands Leaders and along with her visionary team remains committed to our youth as they are the present and we must make the best effort to ensure they have the best future.
